Today I went back to one of our cycling routes, Ramal Rd.

It’s very nice view with tall trees’ shade. After the sun moved south, still I was in shade the whole time I was painting.

Today I needed to be in the sun. 

Air was cold and windy. I was cold.

Luckily I had a puffy winter jacket in my car and wore it.

Painting went so well. I love this painting.

Before I completed the painting, the wind got so strong that it pushed me constantly. My brush strokes couldn’t go where I wanted. I almost finished the painting when I quit, and completed it at my studio.

Despite sometimes challenging weather, I love Plein Air Painting now more than ever before.

I decided to go a little far, on Ramal Rd.

This is one of our cycling route.

It’s very popular for cyclers.

1206. A Historic Mansion

Yesterday on a way to Lovall Valley Loop, we passed this location.

It’s on Patten Street in Sonoma CA.

The street is very wide, parking lane, bicycle lane and car lane.

It’s not busy at all.

There are one historic mansion with several historic adjacent buildings in beautiful manicured surrounding gardens.

This estate was built in 1870.

When the sun rose, it was red.

I believe a lot of fire is going on in California that is why the sun was red.

For while the sun didn’t come out from the clouds and haze.

Then it came out; it was not red at all and so beautiful with the clouds.

I decided to paint the scene from our yard.

I liked that the red undercoat on yesterday’s unfinished painting. I tried to keep its influence in the painting, and I like the results.

Someday I will use the red as an element of my paintings.

Today is an another uncomfortably hot day. From tomorrow sounds like the temperature will go down😊.

Today it would get hotter than yesterday, Yikes!!

When I awaked, already it was light.

Then sky get blue, clouds shown in sunrise light.

What beautiful, glorious clouds.

The light didn’t last long enough to paint🙁.

I liked the huge trees’ shade like an parasol where I parked and painted yesterday,

So I went to there, and painted the another view from that location.

After 10am, already it was getting very warm. A little breath of air helped me to finish my painting.😊

Yesterday I went to take care of our Northcoast Artists Gallery and came back.

Round trip is about 6 hours.

This morning I knew it would be over 100 F° this afternoon.

I had to go early morning to paint.

I wakens a little late, and I went outside around 8:30am. I had to find the location for today’s painting, and a parking place in the shade.

I found a big tree has a lot of leaves like an umbrella. 

11am, even in a shade it was getting very warm.

It’s an old bridge at Watmaugh Rd. When I was painting this, somebody told me “ Hurry up to paint. They’re talking about tearing this bridge down.”

I drive the road, it’s a very bumpy back road. 

I didn’t know it’s so busy until I painted this picture.

It was a sparkling sunny morning.

I was able to finish painting before it got hot😊

We have to paint or draw everyday.

I set up my easel in the shade.

 Before I set it up, guinea hens were chattering. Peacocks visited.

And I saw two horses in front of this barn.

While I was working on this painting they all disappeared!!??

This location is Seaside Beach, Mendocino Coast, CA. 

It’s a little North of Fort Bragg. The parking lot is along Highway 1 and the beach.

It was a fabulous morning, all was sparkling.

Walking in a fresh air is precious.

It makes my heart warm and body skip with joy.
