Morning Glow

My show, Mariko Irie 2012 is up at the Northcoast Artists Gallery in Fort Bragg CA.

At the opening reception, so many people came to see my works and me. The gallery is so big, and it was packed. What a supportive community. I was absent in Mendocino Coast for two year, so I wondered if they forgot me. No, they didn’t and even we didn’t see each other more than ten years, these friends came too. What a wonderful feeling. Thank you so much whoever came to see my works and me.

The show runs through April 3rd. if you don’t come to see my show, please come. I replace paintings for sold ones. So please come back to check out as well.

During the week, I stayed at my friends’. Their house is Oceanfront. It’s a gorgeous ocean view. One all morning, I just sat facing the ocean, staring weaves coming and going. What a soothing.

And my friends are so nice and fun people. I had a great time with them.

It was breathtaking morning glow there. What a beautiful morning of starting a day.

After he ate his a piece of a cake, he wanted to blow candles again.

Everybody do the second wish.

Wishing is a good thing to do. It makes our life happier.

Have a beautiful day.

Sunset Time

It was cloudy all day long. When I was driving, suddenly the gray sky opened. I knew it would be a sunset. So I drove to Cabrillo Dr, parked at the gallery, and walked toward Point Cabrillo Lighthouse.

It was gorgeous Sunset.

What is it?

He is staring at something.

“What is it?”

“Shuuuu” quietly.

He is curious about a lot of things. It is very good thing.

I love this painting very much; because face expression came out exactly I wanted.

This painting doesn’t dry yet. The weather was too dump or too much white in this picture.

Apple Orchard

I was on a way to Santa Rosa from Mendocino.

Along the Hwy 128 there is the Gowan’s apple orchard. We love their apple cider.

It was a foggy morning. I love to paint foggy, misty scene as well as sunny ones.

The last night I watched my favor watercolorist Joseph Zbukvic’s YouTube. So this morning I wanted paint a scene in watercolor.

I really enjoyed painting in watercolor today. Did I get his influence in this painting?

It’s another “beautiful day on a beach” scene.

Waves are not good for surfing any more now, aren’t they?

What do you think?

But it’s nice to be by the ocean. Just chatting as watching waves.

I tried to paint bold brush strokes. I think it came out good, including a seagull.
