“689. Mitsy’s Rose III” Watercolor painting by Mariko Irie

This is the third day of “Mity’s Rose”.

Look at this! It was full bloom. All petals were opened nicely.

It looks asking “Am I pretty?”

What you think?

This is the second day of Mitsy’s rose.

I can see more color. So this one is more colorful than “Mitsy’s rose I” and it looks like dancing.

Happy dancer, don’t you think so?

Mitsy’s Rose I

This rose came from my friend’s garden. My friend’s name is Mitsy. We met at Ping-Pong room at the Finley Community Center. It was my first time to play Ping-Pong there in the last November. Since then we are friend. She is a Japanese. So we can speak Japanese each other. We have been in this country over thirty years, even I go to visit Japan once a year, our Japanese is little rusty. So in our conversation we ask each other “What was the word in Japanese?” It’s funny, isn’t it?

This rose is so colorful. It’s white and pinkish red trim. But white part gets a lot of color by light. I put this rose against north window and painted.

This is the first day of this rose.

“Hello Rosy” This rose is a happy chatterbox, don’t you think?

Hot Cocoa II

This is a same flower as “Hot Cocoa I”.

Roses from store, they open so fast.

But this rose opened slowly so I really could enjoy and taking time to paint a picture.

What do you think about this rose?

Hot Cocoa I

My friends told me that this year is rose’s year again.   My friend gave me a rose named “Hot Cocoa” from her garden.

When I saw this rose, right a way I wanted to paint a picture of this rose.

Color of any thing changes by light.

This rose: In the morning the color is more bluish. Around noon the color changes to pinkish. And late afternoon the color gets more orange.

It has nice fragrance as well.

Now the flower’s shape is not nice any more, so I took a paddle off, what a supplies. The front of paddle color is light dusty rose, but a base of pedal is very bright yellow trim with very bright reddish orange. The hidden place has so much bright color.

The back of paddle is reddish orange.

I enjoyed painting this rose as seeing the color changes as well.

Daffodils by the Ocean

Daffodil season is over here, Santa Rosa.

Ground is covered with fresh green, many kinds of flowers are blooming.

Daffodils are special for me.

After gloomy cold winter, yellow daffodils light our yard.

The patch of daffodils seemed reflect the sun. They were glowing at sunset.

I’d like to say “Thank you for Today, and looking forward for tomorrow.”

A Wave

“676. A Wave” Oil painting by Mariko Irie

A nice warm day, just sitting on a cliff, watching waves coming and going is a wonderful meditation, isn’t it?

It may not make any sense to anyone around you, and might even appear to be preposterous to you as well, but just know that in the end you will not be disappointed. In fact, whoever and whatever you need will eventually appear in their unforeseen Divine perfection. Even if nothing seems to be going right and it all looks like doom and gloom, stay with your excitement. Declare yourself to be in a state of faith and trust, meditate on your vision, and the support will ultimately be forthcoming. The reason that it serves your inner excitement is because in those moments, known only to you, you are in alignment with who you truly are.    Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

If you believe it, it’s yours.

Keep warm and dry,

Have a nice day

Light at the Headlands

When I’m melancholy, even I don’t know why, I talk to the moon.

The moon has never answered me, but finishing talking to, always the melancholy flies away. When I wake up in the morning, I get a beautiful new day.

What a wonderful world.

This location is at Mendocino Headlands. But it doesn’t mater where it was, if it makes feel better.

Spring Waves

Yes, it’s spring.

The last Wednesday and Thursday I was in Mendocino Coast. When I was driving from Santa Rosa, it was raining. I was in pulling rain, but left side of sky was blue sky with white clouds.  When I got Mendocino Coast, it was no rain. I had a nice sunset at the beach. It was soft colors. It was very soothing.

To Ocean at Spring Ranch

“673. To Ocean at Spring Ranch” Oil painting by Mariko Irie

The location is Spring Ranch, CA

According to Mendocino Area Park Association: http://mendoparks.org/van-dammeproject-spring-ranch-barns/ The historic Spring Ranch Barns are part of Van Damme State Park and are located in a high open meadow alongside Highway 1 overlooking the Pacific ocean. There are several barns on the property, but the oldest barn is circa 1864. Sheep ranching, butter-making, dairy, butchering are some of the responsibilities carried out at the ranch.

I painted  “351. Sunny day at the Spring Ranch”: http://www.mariko-irie.com/sunnydayspringranch.html before. The size is 30” x 40” in oil.

I love old fences, meadow and ocean. Why not? So I painted “673. To Ocean at Spring Ranch” 6” x 6” in oil. It’s a small painting. But still it’s nice feeling of spring.

I love it so much.

What do you think?

It’s spring: ground is covered fresh green and wild flowers started bloom.

Come out and join us.
