Peaceful Tender Evening"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One day I worked at Northcoast Artists Gallery from 11am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was able to leave the gallery 4:17pm, earlier than usual, which I was happy about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I drove down south to get on Hwy 128.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Oh no, the road was closed because the Novaro River had been flooded. It was not a rainy day!?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t want to go back to Mendocino to get on the Comptche Ukiah Road to get to Hwy 128.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was close to sunset. I thought it would be nice to enjoy sunset along Hwy1 where I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t travel for years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The sun peeking through Big clouds was beautiful, and I enjoyed the pinkish sky of this scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.mariko-irie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/1128.-Peaceful-Tender-Evening-_blog.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.mariko-irie.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/05\/1128.-Peaceful-Tender-Evening-_blog.jpg\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"1170\" class=\"wp-image-1170\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><figcaption class=\"blocks-gallery-caption\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mariko-irie.com\/peacefultenderevening.html\">&#8220;1128. Peaceful Tender Evening&#8221; Watercolor painting by Mariko Irie<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soon it got dark and heavy fog rolled in, making it hard to drive on a road I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was pitch dark, not many cars were driving. I followed the road not expecting such a sharp u-turn, it was shocking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I was anxious of missing the Bodega Bay turn to get Santa Rosa or Petaluma, not wanting to go all the way to SF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was a such slow drive in the heavy fog and the pitch dark of a winter evening that I couldn&#8217;t figure out where I was, only that I was on Hwy 1. My navigator didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t have reception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I saw cars in a State Park entrance parking lot. I drove in and asked how to get Santa Rosa, finding via Petaluma was a better way to get home to Sonoma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I got Trader Joe\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s, Petaluma before they closed, to shop there.
