“606. Time Goes By” Watercolor painting by Mariko Irie<\/p><\/div>\n

This scene is at Jug Handle Beach. But it can be anywhere.<\/p>\n

I took one week to complete this painting.<\/p>\n

When I almost finished this painting, I wanted some movement in this painting.<\/p>\n

During my morning walk, it was thick foggy morning in Santa Rosa CA, I saw clouds were crossing in front of the sun. The sun was covered with fog, but there is round light.<\/p>\n

When I got home I finished this painting with the clouds passing in front of the sun.<\/p>\n

I just found a book:<\/p>\n

Slowly, slowly, slowly said the Sloth<\/p>\n

I love children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s books with good story & ilustration. Eric Carle is one of my favor illustrator & author of children\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s book. When my old son was little, his favor book was \u00e2\u20ac\u0153 The Very Hungry Caterpillar\u00e2\u20ac\u009d by him. Now his son who is almost four year old, has the book.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Anyway Eric Carle wrote on back of the book \u00e2\u20ac\u009d Slowly, slowly, slowly said the Sloth\u00e2\u20ac\u009d:<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Why are we always in a hurry?<\/b><\/p>\n

Rush. Rush. Rush.<\/b><\/p>\n

We scurry from here and there.<\/b><\/p>\n

Quick! Click!—— we watch TV. We eat fast food.<\/b><\/p>\n

Everyone tells us make it snappy!<\/b><\/p>\n

Hurry up! Time is flying! Step on it!<\/b><\/p>\n

There\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s so little time just to be with friends.<\/b><\/p>\n

to watch a sunset or graze at a star-filled sky.<\/b><\/p>\n

Ah. What we could learn——-even if just a little from the gentle sloth who slowly, slowly, slowly craws along a branch of a tree. Eats a little, sleep a lot, and lives in peace.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/b><\/p>\n

I love to watch. That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s why I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m enjoying painting realism.<\/p>\n

During painting, this world time disappears and staring at \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Time goes by\u00e2\u20ac\u009d.<\/p>\n
