I love it there, it’s quiet. 

Many birds are singing.

Schools of geese are flying in V formations, those are the noisiest birds😊❤️.

This location is Napa-Sonoma Marshes, CA.

Yesterday I painted “1221. Barn at Napa-Sonoma Marshes” there.

During painting, I found the traffic noise is much quieter, just crossed the railroad track and got lower than Ramal Rd.

When I got there, there were dark clouds and nice warm light peeking between the clouds and far away mountains.

I knew it would be sunny soon, so that kind of light wouldn’t last long.

Soon white clouds appeared here and there, and the warm light was fading but still there.

When I wrapped up, the sky was blue.

It was a nice challenge😊❤️.

When we went to cycling the last time, I discovered cross the railroad track there is a nature reserve which is open to the public. 

Today I went there, crossed the railroad track where there is a parking. 

The sky was monotone gray, but it was supposed to be sunny.

Then I expected they sky would dramatically change.It would be over 80F° in the afternoon.

I wanted to finish my painting before getting hot.

I started painting.

In the sky appeared white spots.

When I was finishing it was all blue sky. I love blue sky better than gloomy gray sky, so I wiped the gray sky from my painting, changing it to blue.

Today I had to take care our Northcoast Artists gallery 11am-5pm.

I didn’t need to deliver my work to other galleries, so I had a little time to paint before open the gallery.

I wanted to paint seascapes. I went to Mendocino Headlands. Oh……🙁

I couldn’t see the sky nor ocean. It was heavy fog.

Well, I had 30 minutes for painting today.

So I started paint, it came out good. I like it.😊

We wanted to go to cycling and I wanted to paint as well.

Kris offered to carry all my painting gear to where I wanted to paint.

This location is Duhig Road, Napa, CA.

I wanted to paint there the other day, but it was not a comfortable space to park my car.

For a bicycle, no problem.

This is a spot where we take a break from our regular weekend ride and traditionally have a chocolate 😊.

I could paint in nice cool shade and fresh air.

“1218. Barns on a Big Field”

This location is Adobe Rd. Petaluma, CA.

I knew today would be hotter than yesterday. 

Yesterday I was not in the shade, but by the end of painting it was hot at the location. So I tried to find a parking in the shade with a good scene.

I found the perfect spot, but it was on the other side of Adobe Rd. from my scene, meaning I had to face busy traffic of Adobe Rd.

When I started sketching the composition on the panel, a huge truck went by and blew it off my easel. Lucky it was just the drawing, no damage to the panel.

It was nosy and distracting from cars going by across my view.

This location is Stage Gulch Rd. / Hwy 116.

The view is very peaceful, I love it.

But it’s a very busy road, meaning very noisy.

Now it’s a wine grape harvest time. Huge tracks rattle past leaving the aroma of wine. 

When I was wrapping up, three horses appeared on the hill and a Great Egret down the hill.

I went to Ramal Road again.

I wanted to paint a vineyard on a hill.

I found it with a good parking spot to paint from.

This morning I checked weather.com.

In the morning under 66F°. 

I thought I was fine to face the sun with no shade.

I was wrong, it got hot. Luckily I was wearing a big hat so my face was OK.

Though another nice day to be outside😊
