It’s a sunny idyllic day.
The painting makes me feel at ease and nostalgic.
Like once upon a time in the 1980’s, when I came to Mendocino from Tokyo in 1982.
Mendocino village has been changed but still has the same feeling😊💞

These paintings were a commission.
The customer is a bird enthusiast.
He wanted me to paint birds.
We decided on oil paintings of four different chickadees: Black-capped, Boreal, Chestnut-backed, and Gray-headed, all on 6” x 6” Artists’ Panels which are 3/8” thick, gessoed.
I love Chickadees, I enjoyed painting these very much.
The customer loves them which makes me happy😊💞.

If you know of champagne towers, you have to fill the top champagne glass, otherwise can’t fill other glasses.

It was cool this morning.
During painting it was overcast weather.
This location is at Watmaugh Rd., Sonoma CA, east side of Hwy12.
Traffic is very different from west side.
It’s so peaceful.
There were cows, they move slow but still moving constantly.
Someday I have to study how to paint cow from life.
A blue bird visited me😊.

1192. Vibrant Summer Morning

I stayed at the water tower at the 1900 Apple farm in the last winter when these flowers were not blooming.
Voila! In summer flowers blossomed, apples were getting tasty, and the out door table was very inviting to have a happy chat.
This lady is the owner of the 5 acre apple orchard, a film maker, Yoga teacher and more. She is a very sweet, elegant, cheerful, active person.
Right before flying to Africa for her filming, she harvested a lot of plums to make jam, dry and freeze to preserve. She said “These are X’mas gifts for friends.”
She has amazing energy 😊❤️

I love the scenery and the quietude.
This trail is open to public. I haven’t gone farther than where I painted even though I love to hike.

It was a quiet journey.
I’ve become more confident painting outside.

I was in the shade of eucalyptus trees while painting. When I finished painting I stepped out from the shade into the heat.
I was so lucky to be cool while I was painting.
It was beautiful, sunny, not windy, with birds’ singing, a perfect day for plein air painting again.
